Coron Island, Palawan, Philippines
I can think of few things as joyous as boating around islands in the Philippines while indulging in fresh fish and crab on gorgeous private beaches.
Our boat driver doubled as crab chef, and as soon as we docked, he got started preparing lunch!

Hello Mark, I’ve been to Coron, Palawan twice and I really love how they cook the crabs there (and the crabs are bigger than the usual ones I see in other places in the Philippine markets). Whenever I visit Coron, I always book a tour from UltimateCoronExperience.com because they offer good tour package on a budget. I also love how they make sure that every tour joiners are getting the most out of the experience while roaming around beautiful Coron.

Hi Mark,
I came across this post, it’s amazing you’ve been to Coron, that island is definitely on my destination list. I heard you can ride a boat from Coron to El Nido and back and a boat from Manila to El Nido. Hopefully, I can make that trip next year.
Cheers,
Iza

Better to take the plane from Manila to El Nido. Boat ride will take you 18-24 hours.

Hi Mark,
I’m going to be in puerto princessa in february for 4 days and have an extra 5 left. I’m thinking of travelling north to Coron or El-nido. Any suggests for a lone female traveller?
(incidently, i sent your FB the same message )
thanks,
Lori

Hey Lori, great to hear from you. I was only able to visit Coron Island, so I can’t compare it to El Nido, but I’ve heard really good things about El Nido. It might be easier to get from Puerto Princessa to El Nido, so that might be the easier option! Enjoy!

Wow, perfectly captures the moment! El Nido has always been pinned on my mental map of must see destinations. Throughout my research, I came across Coron Island and it’s surrounding areas. I hope to be able to explore these some day soon!

Ugh, I am so jealous! I was dead set on visiting Coron when we were on Palawan, but unfortunately I got a terrible head cold that lasted a week and was just in no state to travel anywhere (never mind to a place with such renowned wreck diving!). At least we did get to island hop in El Nido! And I was super impressed with the culinary skills of our captain too (though sadly, no fresh crab featured)!

Hey Steph, too bad you couldn’t make it to Coron, but I’m sure El Nido was incredible too, I wanted to go there as well but haven’t made it yet!
