Location: Stone Town, Zanzibar Island, Tanzania
Though the Zanzibar wooden door has been removed, I came to truly admire this Moorish style former High Court in Stone Town, Zanzibar. The overall weathering, paired with the aging of the structure has turned this building into a remarkable deserted structure.

That’s a beautiful building. I always love the older buildings where the paintwork and rendering is crumbling away. Probably not great for the building but they look better; more historic. 🙂

I fully agree, the aging and weathering looks so cool, despite deteriorating the overall structure.

That’s a really good photo; it seems to tell a whole story. Have Zanzibar near the top of my list. Even more tempting now.

You’re right, tropical weather conditions are not ideal for preservation, but I sure love the effect it created on the walls!

Yah, I remember seeing some lovely Moorish building in KL. As a World Heritage site, I think Stone Town has some good preservation efforts.
