VIDEO: Thai Banana Chocolate Crepe (เครป)

(if you can’t see the video, watch Thai banana chocolate pancake here)

Thank you for watching!

Using a scorching hot flat skillet, the vendor first scoops a ladle of batter onto the surface. She then spreads it out with a broom like spatula.

I ordered the Thai Banana Chocolate Crepe (เครป), which came with diced bananas, and a thick layer of chocolate sauce on top.

After it was fully cooked, she wrapped it up and served it to me piping hot!

I was wondering where this vendor is… I will be staying in Khao San, is it close to me?

Hey Mark, these do look super-delicious, I have tried these as well, I was wondering if you, on your travels around the world have ever experienced a durian fruit roti/crepe instead of banana?
(I have tried durian with sticky rice instead of mango, this as you will already know is equally as delectable)

Hey Wolf, I don’t think I’ve had a durian pancake yet, but I’m sure it’s available somewhere. Yes, durian with sticky rice ranks as my favorite dessert, probably in the entire world. In Singapore and Malaysia they also do a lot of things with durian, so I bet it’s possible to find a durian pancake – if I find one I’ll surely try it!

Had already planned to make crepes for dinner tomorrow night but hadn’t decided on a filling, I’m going to make this–because I am a grownup and I can eat chocolate-filled pancakes and call it dinner if I want 🙂
