Thank you for watching!

Thai Khao Lam (ข้าวหลาม) is an extraordinary Thai dessert.

It begins with sticky rice, black sticky rice in this case, that’s mixed with sweet beans, palm sugar, and coconut cream, before being stuffed in a bamboo pole.

The rice is slow roasted over coals until it fully cooks and the sweet ingredients mingle together.

I’m not always that in to desserts, but I do enjoy Khao Lam (ข้าวหลาม)!

Mark, Love the site and purchased your food guide. We’ll be in Bangkok Jan 20, 2013; can you tell us where we can find Thai Khao Lam? My wife is really looking forward to trying it!

Hey Han, thank you very much for getting a copy of my guide. It’s not always common to find in Bangkok, but normally they have some at Wang Lang Market across the street from Siriraj hospital. Enjoy!
