Drinking local style Ethiopian coffee (or “buna” as it’s known) is undoubtedly one of the best things you can possibly do in Ethiopia.

All over Addis Ababa you’ll discover tiny hole-in-the-wall coffee shops where the aroma of fresh roasting beans will lure you right in.

That’s what happened to me in this video.

Thank you for watching!

Hi Mark! I really enjoy your blog and especially the youtube videos. A few weeks ago my wife and I tried a new Ethiopian restaurant here in Phoenix, AZ. It’s called Abyssinia Restaurant and Cafe. It’s on Indian School a bit west of the 51 freeway. That was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I loved every moment of it! They do a traditional coffee ceremony – – I have never tasted coffee so good. I felt transported to another world! Anyway when I got home I looked online for more info about Ethiopian food and came across your blog and youtube videos. Small world… I graduated from ASU in 2010 with a global studies degree. Anyway, thanks for your content. I really enjoy it!

Hello Mark, nice blog. I live in Dominican Republic and here something interesting…Over here we grow two different coffee’s: Arabic coffee and native coffee Catura, originating from Ethiopia. I didn’t try original Ethiopian coffee but Catura is definitely better than Arabica.

Mark. Very cool! There is a coffee shop in DC that does the traditional Ethiopian coffee ritual once per week. Now I definitely want to go.

I miss Ethiopian coffee! I haven’t had a coffee good enough since. Although Malawi coffee was alright. Good times in Ethiopia. Happy days 🙂
