Salsitas- Phoenix, Arizona, USA
05 March 2009
There are number of Salsitas restaurants in the Phoenix area, however the best one, specializing in tacos is located on Indian School Rd. and 43rd Ave.
They serve what are likely the best tacos in Phoenix, among other Mexican standards like burritos. Open 24hrs a day, there is always an opportunity to stop in.
My favorite plate of tacos includes 1 cabeza (head), 1 lengua (tongue), 1 pastor (marinated pork), and 1 carnitas (pulled pork).
If you go there on a weekend night around 3 am the line can be stretched outside. Expect to wait, it is always well worth it.
Pizzeria Bianco- Phoenix, Arizona, USA
21 February 2009
Rated as the best pizza in the United States, I wanted to analyze and make the decision for myself. We started off with the splendid handmade mozzarella, local tomatoes and basil, then drizzled in olive oil. We then proceeded on to the main pizzas including the “Wiseguy” and the “Sonny Boy.” The wiseguy was amazing, but the sonny boy was insane. Something out of this world, bread that was crusty yet soft in the same bite, tomato sauce that was bursting with ripeness, handmade mozzarella that had the exact ratio of creaminess and salt, slices of salami that were oozing with fatty juices, cured olives, and an array of fresh handpicked herbs sprinkled on top.
Flavors were blended together in such a way I could not have imagined with my limited mind. It truly was the best pizza that had ever passed through my mouth.

Heart Attack Grill- Tempe, Arizona, USA
When Heart Attack Grill received a large amount of publicity, I decided it was time to pay it a visit. They advertised as having fatty burgers and fries fried in pure animal fat. I ordered the “triple by-pass” burger, without the fries. It was definitely one of the greasiest burgers I have partaken of and quite tasty.

Burger Hut- Nairobi, Kenya
The double hut burger paired with a plate of masala fries is truly one of the great “combo meals” in this world. The burgers come with fried eggs and outrageous amounts of dripping “unkown” sauce. Burger Hut is a gem tucked away in a small hall in the Westlands district of Nairobi. It is quite likely the best burger establishment the world has to offer.
Mercado Del Puerto- Montevideo, Uruguay
In the footsteps of the eating journalist, Anthony Bourdain, I visited the Puerto Mercado in Montevideo, Uruguay. The piles of meat on the grill were stunning and grilled to perfection. We ordered the 4 person mixed meat platter consisting of chorizo sausage, choripan sausage, ribs, steak, pork roll, and an array of other delicacies. This mission which was accomplished, put us out of commission for hours.

Nacy Cafe- Nairobi, Kenya
Nacy Cafe, pronounced naysee kayf, is an African food winner. On the outskirts of Nairobi, right off the street, Nacy’s proudly serves up some of the best rice pilau and beef stew I’ve ever had. The prices are very economical and the cuisine in quite delightful.
