Pad Thai isn’t the only Thai food out there. In fact, there is such a diversity (and abundance) of Thai food available that in 2.5 years of on-and-off living in Thailand, I’ve only managed to eat Pad Thai a handful of times. Note: Pad Thai is probably one of the most famous world recognized Thai [...]

Maeklong Train Market – The World’s Most Dangerous Market
by Mark Wiens on May 24, 2011
It looked like a rather ordinary Thai market at Maeklong (ตลาดแม่กลอง). Tropical fruits and vegetables were in big brightly colored piles, varieties of chili pastes and herbs were abounding, Thai dishes were freshly prepared, the smell of fish and raw pork permeated, the usual crowds were moseying around, and someone’s country music wrapped up the [...]
Stoney Tangawizi – Africa’s Soda on Steroids!
by Mark Wiens on May 21, 2011
I don’t particularly like soda. In fact, I avoid drinking soda most of the time. Any kind of soda to me usually just tastes like sweet bubbles of sugar, which I’m not really a fan of. It’s not a deep hate that I have for soda, I’ll drink it if it’s the only option – [...]

Photo Favorite: Moorish High Court in Stone Town, Zanzibar
by Mark Wiens on May 13, 2011
Location: Stone Town, Zanzibar Island, Tanzania Though the Zanzibar wooden door has been removed, I came to truly admire this Moorish style former High Court in Stone Town, Zanzibar. The overall weathering, paired with the aging of the structure has turned this building into a remarkable deserted structure.
Hey! My name is Mark. After graduating from university, I decided to travel and EAT!
